DLE Weekly Update: Quiz Accommodations and New KB Articles and Videos

Improvement to the Quiz Accommodations feature

A few months ago we introduced a new feature, Quiz Accommodations, used when extra quiz time is required for some of your students to complete their quizzes. The system lets you grant learners accommodations through the Classlist tool, for all the quizzes at once, without the need to go through the Special Access options for each of their quizzes. Since February, a few more improvements have been made in the Classlist, Quizzes and User Progress tools, areas used by this feature.

Improvements for instructors:

• An accommodation icon now appears in several places in Brightspace to indicate students who have accommodations set up
• You can filter the Classlist by accommodations 
• You can Print or Email a list of users with accommodations from Classlist

Improvements for learners:

• An icon appears next to a learner name in Classlist to indicate they have accommodations. Details are available to them from the My accommodations option.
• When commencing a quiz, the accommodation icon appears next to a learner’s quiz time, indicating that their accommodation has been applied. Note that, if a learner’s time accommodation has been overridden by a quiz-specific special access, this icon does not appear.

Note: When allowing extra time by using the Special Access options in the quiz, you can now add time by multiplier (ex: time and a half, 1.5x) or additional minutes (+30 minutes).
